.Founder & CEO, Refuge Under the Eclipse | Creating accessible, trauma-informed healing journeys grounded in safety, creativity, and community
I’m a founder, systems builder, and business leader passionate about solving problems that can improve millions of lives. After an 18 year career in finance and leadership, I realized something fundamental: technical skills and business knowledge alone are not enough for people to thrive. We teach people how to build careers, manage money, and solve complex problems, but almost no one is taught the emotional skills needed to navigate relationships, conflict, boundaries, self worth, and life’s most difficult experiences. That realization is what led me to create Refuge Under the Eclipse. Refuge is building a new category of emotional education. Our platform combines structured, self paced learning with guided reflection and community to help people develop the emotional skills many of us were never taught. Rather than replacing therapy, Refuge complements it by offering practical education people can apply in everyday life. We begin with a foundational emotional skills journey before expanding into specialized experiences focused on religious trauma, LGBTQ+ identity, domestic violence, PTSD, grief, childhood trauma, relationship recovery, and more. Before creating Refuge, I spent nearly two decades leading teams in financial services and property management, specializing in operational excellence, ethical leadership, process improvement, and people development. That experience shaped how I build today: scalable systems, intentional design, and products centered on real human needs. I’m currently building our MVP and looking to connect with mission driven software engineers, product leaders, designers, and entrepreneurs who want to help create technology that strengthens human connection and makes emotional growth more accessible. I believe the next generation of technology will not just help us work more efficiently. It will help us understand ourselves and each other more deeply. Practice changes everything.
Chief Executive Officer @ Refuge Under the Eclipse (Sep 2025 – ) I founded Refuge Under the Eclipse to create what I could not find when I needed it most: a safe, trauma-informed space for people navigating healing outside of traditional therapy. As Founder and CEO, I lead the strategy, development, and ethical design of our digital peer support platform. Refuge is currently preparing to launch its beta program, Beyond the Eclipse, focused on religious trauma. In the future, we will offer multiple 12-week, self-paced healing journeys for survivors of different trauma types, including LGBTQ+ identity trauma, domestic violence, PTSD, and more. Each journey is built around education, creative processing, and moderated community reflection within a safety-first framework. My role blends vision and execution. I design content grounded in trauma-informed principles, oversee platform integrity and moderation systems, and ensure that every feature supports user safety, pacing, and autonomy. I collaborate with trauma-informed professionals and lived-experience advocates to build accessible, ethically grounded recovery tools that meet people where they are. Refuge is intentionally non-clinical. We do not diagnose, treat, or replace therapy. We bridge the gap between therapy sessions and real life. Our mission is simple: to make structured, peer-supported trauma recovery accessible to anyone seeking healing without judgment, urgency, or performance. As a survivor myself, I approach leadership with empathy, transparency, and realism. My focus is on building a company that values psychological safety as much as scalability, and that measures success not by volume but by the depth of trust we build with every participant.
